A wildlife viewing blind was recently built in the wetland adjacent to the Wetlands Center. Cache River Staff: Jim Waycuilis, Site Superintendent; Bill Johnson, Site Tech; Gary Manley-Cons. Worker and Ned Enrietto-Region V planner constructed the blind.
Also completed are repairs to Section 8 Woods Nature Preserve boardwalk.

2 Movie Nights at the Cache--Is That a Skunk? 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm First Thursday of the Month, 7pm - 9pm Location: Cache River Wetlands Center Grab your family and friends for a relaxing evening with your fellow nature lovers. Movies about nature will provide viewers of all ages with a fun way to learn about the outside world. This year’s movie series theme will be, “Game Species: More Than Just Food”. We will focus on the natural history of hunted species found within the Cache River watershed in order to better understand their role not only in our ecosystem, but within our everyday lives. The AmeriCorps staff will hold a short discussion about the movie after each session. Don’t miss this monthly opportunity to appreciate nature with the local community. 11 Cache River Nature Fest 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Join us on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 for the annual Cache River Nature Fest! We will have a variety of exhibits and activities for the whole family! These include various bird exhibits to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day and guided hikes and canoe tours to celebrate our beautiful refuge. So come on out and join the fun!
